Senior Design Engineer – Connectors
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to join an industry-leading engineering team supporting advanced connector product development.
This is a remote direct hire position, with approximately 25% travel to the Binghamton, NY area.

- Lead the mechanical design and development of connector products from concept through production launch.
- Design plastic injection molded components and complex electromechanical assemblies.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior design engineers.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, testing, and cross-functional engineering teams to develop innovative product solutions.
- Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using Solid Works and ePDM.
- Perform engineering analysis utilizing FEA, Mold Flow, tolerance stack-up, and design validation techniques.
- Develop and maintain BOMs, ECNs, specifications, test plans, and other engineering documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and root cause investigations utilizing Lean engineering tools.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of product design experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience designing plastic injection molded components.
- Proficiency with Solid Works, ePDM, FEA, and Mold Flow analysis.
- Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Experience utilizing Lean problem-solving tools such as Root Cause Analysis and A3 methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
Candidates should have direct experience designing electrical connector products, including:
- Circular, rectangular, high-speed, or fiber optic connectors
- Contact system design, plating, mating cycles, and connector reliability
- MIL-spec or other industry-standard interconnect systems
- High-speed interconnect or signal integrity design experience
