Position Overview
Mechanical and HVAC Designer for the Solutions for Industry group in the Binghamton, NY office. The role focuses on heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and related mechanical disciplines using Revit and AutoCAD.
Responsibilities- Perform design work across mechanical disciplines, primarily HVAC and plumbing, with exposure to industrial piping, central utility plants, compressed air systems, chilled water systems, steam systems, and fire protection.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to produce final construction drawings and details.
- Develop conceptual designs and cost estimates during early project stages.
- Design plumbing and building utility piping systems.
- Visit job sites as required, anticipating a mix of day trips and overnight domestic trips.
- Adhere to Ramboll’s Project Execution Manual and Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or greater.
- Experience with HVAC and industrial duct layout.
- Knowledge of SMACNA duct construction standards and International Plumbing Code.
- Proven ability to foster a creative engineering environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience across a wide range of mechanical engineering areas.
- Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Preferred experience with AutoCAD and Revit design software.
- 5+ years of industry experience preferred.
Anticipated base salary range: $95,000 to $115,000 per year, subject to location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Salary may vary based on labor cost differences across U.S. markets. In addition to base salary, potential eligibility for bonus, overtime, and other compensation, alongside a comprehensive benefits package supporting well‑being, professional development, and work‑life balance.
Work Location & TravelLocation:
Binghamton, NY office. The role requires site visits, including day trips and overnight domestic travel.
