Plant Utilities Engineer 3

As a Plant Utilities Engineer 3, you would plan, supervise, coordinate, and direct the activities of subordinate Plant Utilities Engineers and others engaged in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing and calibration of mechanical and electrical equipment providing heat, hot water, ventilation, air-conditioning, water/sewage treatment, and electrical distribution.

- Candidates must be permanent in this title and eligible for transfer; OR be eligible via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service law. OR Candidates who meet the following qualifications may be provisionally appointed:
Candidates must be qualified employees of New York State and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Plant Utilities Engineer 2 or two years of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Plant Utilities Engineer
1. Candidates appointed provisionally must take and pass the next available Civil Service examination used to fill this position and must receive a score that is reachable on the resulting eligible list before they can be permanently appointed. Candidates who are disqualified or who do not receive a reachable score may not be retained. To be considered for provisional appointment you must submit a New York State Examination Application.
