PC​/LAN Technician

Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service to end users across various school districts. Responsible for installing and maintaining hardware, software, and other classroom and computer technologies. Document technology issues and escalate complex problems to level two support. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Perform related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, and either:
A) One year of experience in installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer technology and network equipment;
B) Completion of 30 semester credits from a regionally accredited college, including 15 credits in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a closely related field;
C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by

A) and

B);
D) Broome County Civil Service Examination required.

Note:
Computer technology includes laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, notebooks, etc.

Substitution:
Vendor-approved network training certifications (A+, Network+, Security+) may substitute for one year of experience.
Special Requirement:
Valid NYS driver's license at the time of appointment.

Additional Note:
Due to rapid technological changes, qualifying experience must have been gained within the last five (5) years.
