Systems Analyst
Position Overview
UHS is seeking a Full Time Epic Beacon Certified Analyst II. The ideal candidate will also hold Epic Ambulatory certification as this position will require you to work in both areas. The role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, analyzing and recommending changes in support of assigned applications/systems including ongoing production maintenance and trouble‑shooting. Supports the planning, design, development, build and/or configuration of assigned applications/systems.
Leads and/or coordinates conversions, application/system testing and documentation of system procedures. Participates and provides input in training design and development and assists in training execution in relation to assigned projects. Provides go‑live support and serves as primary point of contact for ongoing maintenance/support and trouble‑shooting.
Work Locations:
Phelps Hall, UHS Binghamton General Campus, Binghamton, NY;
Remote in Johnson City, NY 13790. The position may also require floating across multiple UHS facilities.

Compensation Range: $33.63 - $50.45 per hour, depending on experience.
Job Responsibilities- Epic Beacon certification required; demonstrate proficiency in additional Epic modules or applications.
- Independently prepare and deliver workflow and functional demonstrations.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to perform high‑quality system build work with minimal supervision.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned applications/modules within projects and initiatives.
- Act as a resource and mentor for Analyst I staff, offering guidance on decision‑making and work prioritization.
- Thorough understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and operational workflows, including upstream/downstream impacts of build decisions.
- Support ticket resolution across multiple Epic modules and effectively collaborate with end users, the help desk, and IS teams.
- Lead end‑user learning sessions, facilitate meetings, and frame decisions using appropriate analysis and presentation methodologies.
- Develop growing knowledge of IS functional areas such as networking, security, telecom, servers, infrastructure, and interfaces, with awareness of key contacts for collaboration.
- Understand end‑to‑end business unit workflows and align build decisions with healthcare policy and organizational processes.
- Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues that span multiple teams, developing new solutions with minimal assistance.
- Identify and engage key stakeholders, present options with pros/cons, and provide clear recommendations.
- Lead activities such as huddles, lean initiatives, peer training, and end‑user support workflows.
- Recognize as a go‑to resource for reviewing vendor updates, upgrades, change‑management impacts, and project‑related build.
- Actively participate in departmental learning, seek and apply feedback, and self‑assess skill gaps for continuous professional development.
- Contribute to improving work methods, team performance, and organizational outcomes through innovative thinking and collaboration.
- Demonstrate a strong team‑first mindset, proactively assist colleagues, elevate issues appropriately, and put IS and organizational goals above personal interest.
- Minimum 2-3 years of healthcare operations (clinical, patient care, administrative or revenue cycle), information technology or health information technology experience, OR demonstrated competency in an Applications Analyst I role.
- Current Epic certifications:
Epic Beacon and Epic Ambulatory, OR willingness to travel for training and achieve certification within 90 days of completion of training at Epic in application as assigned. - Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or a related clinical/healthcare field. - Current Epic certification(s).
