** Position Overview
** United Health Services (UHS) is seeking an Application Analyst Team Lead to serve as a senior application analyst and subject matter expert supporting one or more clinical or business applications. This role provides leadership to the application team, fostering empowerment, collaboration, and continuous improvement while ensuring effective, efficient operations in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment. The Team Lead partners closely with the application leader and operational stakeholders to develop departmental plans, standards, and best practices aligned with organizational goals.
The Application Analyst Team Lead oversees day-to-day team activities, prioritizes work across multiple applications, and serves as a trusted expert on workflows, system functionality, integration, and regulatory impacts. This role leads governance processes, facilitates team and stakeholder meetings, supports project and build transitions, and contributes to complex decision-making through business cases and metrics-driven recommendations. The Team Lead also ensures system availability, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction while coaching and mentoring analysts, driving innovation, and representing UHS through collaboration and industry engagement.

** Job responsibilities
*** Provide strategic leadership and supervision to application staff, fostering empowerment, decision-making, and effective planning to optimize performance and continuously improve quality in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
* Partner with management to develop and maintain departmental plans, standards, procedures, and work instructions aligned with organizational goals and operational effectiveness.
* Create and sustain a culture of growth and development by supporting career planning, productivity, and individualized training and development plans for team members.
* Establish strong communication mechanisms with staff and leadership, including regular one-on-one meetings, to promote transparency, trust, teamwork, and professional development.
* Advocate for and lead progressive change, collaborating across teams, departments, and divisions while transferring knowledge and driving innovation.
* Support performance management processes, including collaboration with managers on performance appraisals and feedback as needed.
* Develop and promote best practices for integrated application build; serve as a subject matter expert on workflows, tickets, regulatory impacts, and system design; facilitate application team meetings and coach analysts.
* Represent the organization externally at industry forums (e.g., HIMSS, UGM, XGM), communicating innovative healthcare and business-aligned system designs.
* Independently prioritize and manage analyst workloads across multiple applications, collaborating with operational and leadership stakeholders to deliver creative, well-reasoned solutions.
* Produce business cases and decision documentation for complex initiatives; secure senior stakeholder approval; facilitate patient safety escalations, security resolutions, and project planning.
* Lead transitions from build to operations or project completion, soliciting peer feedback, scoping initiatives across pillars, tracking metrics, and establishing work groups to drive performance improvements.
