Location: City of Binghamton

As an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) you will join the CAE USA, Inc. Classified Cyber Security Team supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs. Your responsibilities will ensure classified information systems meet cyber security requirements and comply with government directives.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM) to determine technical Information Assurance (IA) requirements.
  • Conduct cyber risk assessment activities, including vulnerability analysis and mitigation solution analysis, and ensure proper security implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Assist program personnel at off‑site locations to meet U.S. Government certification requirements and provide training for the cybersecurity program.
  • Develop system documentation for authorization, security management, and continuous monitoring of both networked and standalone information systems.
  • Ensure selected security controls are implemented and operating as intended throughout the information system/A&A lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and participate in continuous monitoring activities, monitoring security infrastructure and alarm devices for Indicators of Compromise (IOC) using SIEM and cybersecurity tools.
  • Perform hardware and software configuration management.
  • Assist with technical investigative activities, data integrity containment, and reporting of investigation for IA‑related security events.
  • Coordinate with cyber systems security engineers, system architects, and developers to provide oversight in the development of secure technical solutions.
  • Participate in implementation of current and future security domains and architectures, including emerging service areas.
  • Conduct system audits and compliance/vulnerability scans and interpret results.
  • Travel to off‑site locations to establish RMF requirements and deliver ATO artifacts to the customer.
Qualifications
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an Associate Degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Current active DoD 8570.01‑M IAT LevelII certified credentials (e.g., SEC+).
  • Working knowledge of security standards and frameworks (FIPS, NIST SP800‑Series, JSIG, DAAPM, ICD).
  • Experience managing cybersecurity requirements in collateral, Special Access Programs (SAP), and/or Specialized Compartmentalized Information (SCI) environments.
  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers (DCSA, AO/DAO, GCAs, IT, Program Managers, Program Engineering, Cyber Architects/Engineers).
  • Experience with the authorization and approval (A&A) of classified information systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, critical thinking, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
  • Self‑motivated, able to prioritize multiple projects, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Experience with SIEM and compliance scanning tools (e.g., Splunk, Nessus, ACAS, SCC‑SCAP, Solar Winds, STIG Viewer, Vulnerator).
  • Self‑driven and results‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Security Responsibilities
  • Comply with all company security and data protection policies and procedures.
  • Properly mark and handle all information and materials.
  • Prohibit disclosure of any information to non‑authorized personnel.
  • Store and access all government and proprietary information electronically on company‑provided resources.
  • Be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Work Environment

Professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Some travel may be required.

Physical Demands

Require the ability to operate a personal computer and sit at a workstation for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50pounds.

Salary

$91,500 to $107,700 (actual compensation dependent on experience, qualifications, and market).
