A CNC Laser operator is capable of performing all activities related with operating a CNC Laser cutting machine such as set-ups, troubleshooting and machine maintenance.

• Use of proper personal protective equipment.
• Set-up and operation of CNC Laser machine.
• Material selection based on paperwork requirements; material type, size, thickness, and grade.
• Loads material into the machine manually and/or an electric hoist.
• Sets up machine for optimal cut and efficiency with respect to material type, thickness, and grade.
• Ensure parts are cut according to production order or other type of documentation.
• Transfers material to and from raw material inventory in a regular basis.
• Marks all parts and/or material drop offs with heat numbers for traceability purposes.
• Operates machine with caution to prevent damages.
• Performs maintenance routines.
• Inspects or measures work, using rule, gauges, and templates.
• Keeps workplace safe and free of dangerous obstacles.
• Maintains daily time records
• Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation
• Other job duties as assigned.

• High School or GED Diploma.
• Ability to read, write, and general comprehension
• Ability to use measuring equipment, read blueprints and schematics.
• Previous laser operation experience preferred.
• Vocational training in lieu of experience would be considered.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Experience with CNC Programming and/or Sheet metal operations is a plus.
• Mechanical or manufacturing process general knowledge is preferred.

This position will work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels. Position will be primarily working in a standing position for up to (6) plus hours per day. Some duties will require sitting for short periods of time. Must be capable of lifting 0-50lbs. in the proper ergonomic position.
