Shipping & Receiving Clerk Your Role

As a key member of the warehouse team, the Shipping & Receiving Clerk coordinates the movement of goods into and out of the facility. This role requires a combination of administrative, organizational, and physical skills and involves working cross‑functionally with other departments, vendors, carriers, and customers.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Prepare, package, and label products for outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Receive, inspect, and record all incoming shipments with precision.
  • Create product packing lists and shipping documents from the ERP system.
  • Choose appropriate packaging for products based on customer requirements.
  • Check orders for accuracy before packaging and shipment.
  • Arrange transportation services as requested by the customer, or determine the most cost‑effective method when customer preference is not provided.
  • Interact cross‑functionally with other departments within the plant to meet shipment requirements or solve problems.
  • Create and provide documentation to appropriate departments for quality purposes.
  • Notify and/or deliver incoming products to appropriate departments.
  • Process and prepare documentation for all returns.
  • Perform material handling – forklift operation (on the job training & certification available).
  • Additional tasks or projects (not listed above) that are assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
What You Need to Succeed
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of Microsoft Windows Operating System experience (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) required.
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
  • 1–2 years of ERP system experience.
What Will Set You Apart
  • 1–2 years of forklift experience.
  • Continuous improvement experience.
Compensation

$18–$25/hr depending on experience and qualifications.

Physical & Mental Demands

While performing duties, the employee frequently sits, talks or hears, and uses hands to handle or touch objects or controls. The employee regularly stands, walks, stoops, bends, or reaches above the shoulders and must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. All employees must wear company‑approved safety glasses on the production floor, warehouse, or other designated areas.
