This position is responsible for the preparation of metal assemblies and sub-assemblies prior the painting process. Additionally, it utilizes traditional spray (liquid and powder) and touch up techniques to finish the product to the customer drawing and work order specifications.

• Prepares materials, surfaces and structures for paint.
• Application of coating to drawing specifications.
• Prepare, coat and finish metal assembly surfaces.
• Utilization of spray equipment to apply paint/powder finishes.
• Mixing and application of epoxies, gel coats, powder coats and urethane; indicated to the prescribed formulas.
• Adjusts nozzle on spray equipment and monitors the flow and viscosity of the paint/powder solution.
• Usage of mil readings and monitors use age amount.
• Performs preventative equipment maintenance to ensure apparatus remains in work order.
• Regulates temperature and air circulation in drying ovens.
• Initiates and maintains all applicable paperwork as required.
• Follows all safety standards and procedures.
• Utilization of Man lift and all safety harness features when working with large metal fixtures.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot defects and consults with other work members.
• Able to withstand exposure to industrial ovens in short time frames
• Ability to place and retrieve large metal fixtures into Industrial ovens
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School or GED Diploma.
• 2-3 Years of manufacturing painting experience preferred.
• Understanding of the technical aspects of the job.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Ability to read blueprints and other work instructions and procedures.
• Serves as team member.
• Proficient at spray and hand-held application of exterior coatings.
• Proficient at sealing/baking final exterior coatings.
• Self-motivated.
• Flexible schedule as this position could be required to work additional hours.

This position will work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels. Position will be primarily working in a standing position for up to 6 plus hours per day. Some duties will require sitting for short periods of time. Must be capable of lifting 0-25lbs. in the proper ergonomic position.
