Schedule:
7 am – 3:30 pm
This contract position requires upper level hand assembly experience including through‑hole, surface‑mount and jumper‑wire soldering, and IPC‑610 inspection/touch‑up.
Job Responsibilities- Work includes, but is not limited to: assembly, soldering, inspection, packaging, process improvements and training, and other related activities.
- Perform SMT and/or PTH soldering of printed circuit boards, including rework and touch‑up.
- Operate machinery used in the PCB area such as the wave solderer, CS‑400, pinning machine and solder fountain.
- Carry out conformal coating processes.
- Perform module cleaning, potting and testing duties.
- Use bench‑top equipment, test equipment, hand tools and computers.
- Assemble small mechanical products—springs, gears, mechanical subassemblies.
- Assemble and test electronic and electro‑mechanical products.
- Participate in meetings to determine work priorities.
- Commit to customer and business focus in areas such as quality of work, attendance and productivity. Overtime may be required.
- Adhere to company policies such as safety, respect for others, integrity and workplace rules.
- Attend additional training, either on‑the‑job or off‑site, as recommended by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of prior experience in production and/or manufacturing; experience in aircraft instrument or electronics manufacturing is desired.
- IPC‑610 certification preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills to facilitate effective teamwork.
- Demonstrates creative problem‑solving, continual process improvement and a willingness to take smart risks.
- Physical aptitude to work on very small mechanical assemblies and to assemble and inspect under a microscope.
- Soldering skills desired; certification in soldering required.
- Knowledge of prototype, assembly drawings and blueprint reading required. Must support assemblies of a complex and critical nature that may require extensive knowledge of techniques, tools, materials, military standards and ISO 9000.
