Rural Health Network SCNY (RHN)'s mission is to advance the health and well-being of rural people and communities. The RHN VISTA program, Rural Health Service Corps, will seek to eliminate poverty in the proposed service areas, and expects to benefit program participants, community members, and host organizations. Twelve VISTA members total will contribute to the goals of the project by performing activities such as strategic planning, research, grant writing, training, volunteer management, and coalition building over the course of the next year.
MemberDuties
- Completing the orientation process, learning about the Council’s programs, community partners and how they relate to identified community needs.
- Collaborating with program directors in all phases of our annual events to improve community involvement and expand support for the Council’s programming. This position is the main point of contact for all Council community engagements and involvement.
- Creation and distribution of marketing materials, newsletters, e-communications, and grants to provide education about community needs and financial support for programming.
- Supporting the recruitment of volunteers.
