* Job Responsibilities:
**#
* Coordinates clinical training, orientation and ongoing evaluation of new/existing clinical staff as well as completion and submission of clinical competencies at time of hire and annually.
* In collaboration with the unit coordinator, coordinates clinical schedules, ensuring appropriate clinical support.
* The RN provides clinical leadership while overseeing the scope of practice of LPN’s and Medical Assistants in the office.
* Triages and assesses patients for early identification of signs and symptoms to prevent complications and ensure timely intervention.
* Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
* Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.
* Maintains CLIA Waived Lab standards and performs CLIA Waived Lab testing and oversees proficiency validation according to regulatory standards. Includes oversight of tri-annual AAFP Lab Proficiency testing, lab quality controls and lab credentialing.
* Collaborates and leads patients, families, and all members of the health care team in coordinating patient care.
* In collaboration with the Office Supervisor/Unit Coordinator, participates in and facilitates Performance Improvement activities, monitors PI data and assists with the development of Performance Improvement plans.
* Collaborates with Office Supervisor/Unit Coordinator to promote and facilitate the compliance and understanding of Joint Commission, NYS DOH, Infection Control and all regulatory standards.
* Participates in educational opportunities and in collaboration with the unit coordinator, assists in providing information updates and acts as a resource for all clinical staff.#

Qualifications:
**** Minimum
Required:
*** Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
* At least 1 year experience in health care setting with evidence of having obtained proficiency in those areas emphasized in the Registered Nurse curriculum.
* Current NY State RN license.
* Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment.
** Preferred:
*** Previous experience in a walk in / primary care/ specialty care setting.
