Overview
As a Guthrie Employee Health & Wellness Nurse Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting employee wellness, workplace safety, and clinical compliance across the health system. The NP provides assessment, treatment coordination, immunization oversight, occupational surveillance examinations, and regulatory compliance functions in collaboration with the Employee Health Manager, Medical Director, and broader care team. This is a clinical role focused on employee health services rather than community outpatient primary care.
This position is primarily based at Guthrie Lourdes in Binghamton, NY. However, periodic coverage may be required at Guthrie locations in Cortland, NY and Sayre, PA to support system‑wide employee health needs.
- Outpatient employee health position within Guthrie’s Employee Health department
- Supports clinical evaluation, injury/illness assessment, immunization programs, and wellness initiatives
- Works collaboratively across departments and with system clinicians
- Schedule:
Monday – Friday - Contributes to regulatory compliance and OSHA‑required employee wellness functions
- Conduct employee examinations, surveillance assessments, and regulatory health evaluations
- Document all encounters in the employee health record and maintain accurate logs
- Screen, assess, and evaluate employee injuries and illnesses
- Perform (or train to perform) phlebotomy, specimen collection, drug screen collection, and breath alcohol testing
- Administer employee immunizations, including onboarding, surveillance, and annual influenza compliance
- Conduct OSHA‑compliant vision screening and monitor exposure requirements
- Provide clinical counseling, testing follow‑up, and health education for employees
- Respond to workplace incidents requiring clinical intervention or escalation
- Collaborate with the Medical Director to ensure compliance with state, federal, and internal regulations
- Maintain confidentiality, continuity of care, and proper reporting for employee wellness records
- Participate in performance improvement participation, continuing education, and ongoing occupational compliance training
- Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Pennsylvania and New York State license
- Three (3) or more years of Nurse Practitioner practice; occupational health experience highly desirable
- OR Five (5) or more years of RN experience with 1+ year of Nurse Practitioner practice
- Excellent interpersonal, documentation, and clinical communication skills
- Phlebotomy experience desired but not required
- Ability to collaborate across departments and work within established regulatory processes
Monday – Friday, 7–4
Compensation & Benefits- Base salary: $115,000–$120,000
