Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment. The RN is accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence‑based quality care to patients and families based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Essential Functions- Employs Nursing Professional Practice:
Assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patients’ care; develops and coordinates the patient’s plan of care to achieve goals and optimize outcomes across the continuum. - Advocates:
Effectively advocates for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote the autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs of patients. - Facilitates Learning:
Fosters a learning environment for patients/families, nursing and other members of the healthcare team, including the community. - Aligns Practice with Safety and Quality:
Accountable for safety, identifies and corrects problems, integrates evidence and best practice into nursing care, and uses data to improve patient outcomes.
- Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- At least one year of experience in Med/Surg, ER, or ICU; new RN residency graduates considered if transitioned from a Newly Licensed Registered Nurse (NLRN) Residency Program.
- BSN in Nursing preferred.
- Specialty certification preferred.
- BLS certification required; ACLS required for unit dependent roles.
- BSN in Nursing preferred; current RN license required.
- Maintain current BLS certification; ACLS certification as required by unit.
- Any specific time‑frame agreements for obtaining a bachelor’s degree in nursing are respected as specified by the Nursing Department.
