Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care in an acute care environment by delivering coordinated, safe, compassionate, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, respecting individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Education, License & Certification- Registered Nurse in the State of Practice.
- BSN in Nursing preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (effective date to remain in effect).
- Specialty certification preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS unit dependent.
- PALS unit dependent.
The RN must be licensed in the state of employment with at least one year of experience, or directly transition from the Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency (NLRN) Program. Must meet nursing unit specifications regarding educational requirements throughout employment.
Essential FunctionsEmploys Nursing Professional Practice: assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care; develops and coordinates care plans to achieve patient goals; monitors, records, and communicates patient condition; maintains competency; advocates for ethical and holistic care; facilitates learning for patients/families; aligns practice with safety and quality, using evidence-based practice to improve outcomes.
Engages in Professional Development: participates in ongoing learning, operates within the legal parameters of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and specialty standards.
Other Duties- Proficiency in Information Technology, including electronic health records.
