Job Overview

United Health Services (UHS) is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to deliver compassionate care in diverse clinical environments.

• Assist with patient assessments, administer medications, provide treatments, and support patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse or provider.
• Perform clinical assignments within scope of practice to maximize patient experience and ensure patient safety.
• Promote and facilitate compliance and understanding of Joint Commission, NYS DOH, Infection Control and all regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
• Utilize pharmacology knowledge and safely administer medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.
• Maintain CLIA Waived Lab standards and perform CLIA Waived Lab testing and proficiency validations; participate in tri-annual AAFP Lab Proficiency testing, lab quality controls, and lab credentialing if required by department.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities, review PI data, and assist in the development of Performance Improvement plans.
• Participate in educational opportunities.

• Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
• Current New York State Practical Nurse License or Permit.
• Preferred:
  Experience working in critical care or hospital environment.
• Basic skills certifications (CPR).
