American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Endoscopy position requiring 1 year of GI/Endo experience and NY RN licensure.

• Work in the Endoscopy department of a hospital setting
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (7:00 AM-3:30 PM)
• 13-week assignment length
• Required to participate in on-call rotation: 1 on-call shift per month plus 1 weekend on-call per month
• Performs procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, esophageal varices/banding, and sclerotherapy
• Utilizes equipment such as balloon dilators, electrosurgical units, ERBE, forceps, polyp snares, and foreign body equipment
• Administers and monitors conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care
• Epic EMR experience required

• Active NY RN license required
• Pending license accepted
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in administering conscious sedation, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and airway management
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs and administering medications including opioid analgesics, reversal agents, and Versed
• Ability to obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Prior travel experience is not required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Former employees of the health system must be separated for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler
• RTO requests of 5 days or less are preferred
• Approximately 4 hours of non-billable orientation modules must be completed prior to start
• Responsibilities include specimen handling/labeling, post-procedure care, and recovery of patients from conscious sedation or monitored anesthesia care
