PACU Staff Registered Nurse

About This Role

The PACU Staff Registered Nurse at UHS is responsible for providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment, managing pain, and collaborating with a diverse team to ensure rapid patient improvement.

• Pay: $40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience

• Schedule:
  
  8 hour shifts; weekends and holidays are on call
• Sign-On Bonus:
  Up to $15,000

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely according to UHS Hospitals policy.
• Share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization.
• Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies.
• Participate in and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model.
• Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements.
• Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
• Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing preferred

• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting preferred

• Current New York State Registered Nurse License required
• CCRN preferred
• Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned preferred
