American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NY RN license and 1 year of MS/Tele experience.

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• EPIC EMR charting experience preferred

• Active NY RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral/central line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Experience with insulin, heparin, and PCA medication administration
• Familiarity with wound care and gastrointestinal ostomy/feeding tube management

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Manage central and peripheral IV lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration
• Support patients with renal failure, post-neurosurgery, and total joint replacement needs
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, excluding holidays
• Must reside 50+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former Guthrie Healthcare System employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Approximately 4 hours of non-billable orientation modules required prior to start
