RN - ICU

Experience: 6 months to 3 years of Nursing (RN) experience

License: Current Registered Nurse License

Certifications: BLS, ACLS

Must-Have:

Experience with intensive cardiac patients (CHF, COPD, end stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, GI bleeds, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and normothermia).Experience with stroke patients, thrombectomy, and TNK.ICU overflow experience.

Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities.

The RN is responsible for the prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering.

They provide diagnosis and treatment of human responses and advocate for the care of individuals and families.

The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development.

They must adhere to nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.

The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Job responsibilities include assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a group of patients.

The RN serves as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit assignments.

They educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources.

The RN utilizes knowledge of pharmacology to safely administer medications.

They share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization.

The RN actively participates in supportive governance and improvement initiatives.

They engage in professional development and mandatory education requirements.

The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.

They provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.

The RN may perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.

The RN participates in the Clinical Ladder Program as their knowledge and expertise develop.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Required skills include collaboration, communication, judgment, and critical thinking.

Strong organizational and planning skills are essential for this role.

Problem-solving, reliability, safety, and risk management skills are also important.

Preferred skills include previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.

A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing is required.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is preferred.

Certifications such as CCRN and relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) are preferred as required by the assigned unit.
