Job Description
The Early Neuro Cognitive Development (ENCoDe) Team is hiring a full‑time temporary Instructional Support Assistant (SL‑1) to assist with laboratory research on infant and young adult development in face processing, attention, and language. This role involves coordinating behavioral, neurophysiological, and neuroimaging experiments, managing recruitment and scheduling, maintaining lab operations, and supporting community outreach.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with coordination and conduction of behavioral, neurophysiological, and neuroimaging experiments
- Assist with management of recruitment activities and appointment scheduling
- Assist with oversight of day‑to‑day lab functions and shared lab spaces dedicated to research studies
- Develop and maintain research partnerships with local community centers
- Assist with planning lab events, meetings, and community outreach events
- Assist with management of lab equipment and supplies
- Maintain a positive, welcoming, and supportive lab culture
Candidates should be able to communicate research goals to diverse stakeholders, solve problems creatively, and stay open to learning new skills. The position may require some non‑traditional hours and local travel; flexibility for evenings and weekends is an asset.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in psychology, cognitive science, integrative neuroscience, or related field
- At least 6 months of full or part‑time research experience in developmental or cognitive psychology (consecutive or non‑consecutive, paid or unpaid)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and flexibly to meet changing project needs
- Willingness to take on academic and administrative duties
- Research interest in developmental cognitive neuroscience or related fields
- Technical literacy, comfortable with computer‑related tasks
- Comfortable interacting with infants/children and families
- Experience with programming languages such as R or MATLAB
- Experience working with infants and toddlers
- Experience working in diverse communities and communicating effectively with individuals from various cultures and backgrounds
