Postdoctoral Associate (SL-1)
Salary: $60,000 - $64,000
Lab OverviewThe Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience Research Laboratory at Binghamton University (PI: Sung-Joo Lim, ) is seeking a full‑time postdoctoral researcher. Our lab studies how humans perceive and learn speech sounds, aiming to understand the brain and cognitive mechanisms that support speech communication and learning. We use a broad range of empirical methods, including behavioral experiments, multimodal neuroimaging (EEG/MRI), noninvasive brain stimulation (tDCS/tACS), and pupillometry.
The postdoctoral fellow will work on multimodal neuroimaging projects investigating the neural bases of sound/speech learning. The primary aims are to identify intrinsic and extrinsic factors that promote learning, and to characterize the individual differences in learning‑related changes in brain networks. The core methodologies will involve functional and structural neuroimaging (fMRI, DWI), electrophysiology (EEG), non‑invasive brain stimulation, and cognitive–behavioral testing to explore the neural mechanisms underlying auditory learning and neuroplasticity.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently in a self‑organized manner, while also enjoy working collaboratively with our team. They will have an interest and skill in scientific communication and writing, and share research interests in research methods as well as in topics of human cognition, speech communication, and language.
