We are currently hiring a Scheduler / Cost Controller in LaBella's Program Management Services Division at our client's office in Binghamton, NY. The position is in-person; work type and location may change based on client contractual obligations.
The Program Management Services Division provides comprehensive management services for complex projects and multi-year capital programs. Project teams deliver business consulting, project management, financial control and monitoring, administrative, and technical support.
This role produces a variety of regular and ad‑hoc reports in support of project planning and control initiatives, working closely with the project team to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and standards.
Salary Range: $76,000 - $102,000. The specific salary offered may be influenced by candidate experience, education, and work location.
Responsibilities- Verify the accuracy of all cost information, ensuring proper coding and allocation to the project budget.
- Produce required accounting and project cost reports and reports on deviations, under‑runs, and over‑runs.
- Prepare forecasts and cost trend reports; review and evaluate trends and their impact on project costs.
- Monitor project costs and commitment to budget and forecast.
- Maintain change control and the change order register.
- Assess progress measurement and develop/update progress curves for progress reporting.
- Perform Earned Value Management (EVM) during all project stages.
- Develop an integrated master schedule of the project according to owner standards and approved scheduling tool.
- Evaluate activities in the integrated project schedule to capture work that can be completed in six‑month look‑ahead increments, including work on the critical path, work with less than two weeks float, and work that can be consolidated or is compatible with other projects.
- Develop project sequence/logic, preparing project schedules that accurately identify the interrelationship of activities and third‑party involvement.
- Compare current schedule and cost (EV, AC) versus the performance measurement baseline, highlighting major activity deviations.
- Perform critical path analysis to identify and analyze critical paths and activities, forecasting delays and evaluating alternative scenarios.
- Provide guidance to other project personnel on good scheduling and control practices and techniques.
- Coordinate with the Scheduler‑Cost Controller Group and Manager Planning and Control to accomplish portfolio planning and control goals.
- Produce a variety of regular and ad‑hoc reports supporting project planning and control initiatives.
- Work closely with all functional departments, ensuring policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to.
- Develop, implement, feed, reconcile, and maintain valuable project control databases and reports.
- Manage reconciliation of program controls data with financial and performance systems, coordinating with Project Managers.
- Perform journal entries when requested.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Project Controlling and 4 years of experience in Construction Project Scheduling.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- CAPM or PMI‑SP Certificate or equivalent (requires client approval).
- Experience with SAP.
- Experience with Primavera (preferred) and/or Microsoft Project required.
- Experience in the functional area under which the role will be contracted.
