Northeast Dock & Door (NEDD) is a division of Thompson & Johnson Equipment specializing in dock and door equipment, products, service, and solutions for commercial and industrial customers.

As we continue to grow Northeast Dock & Door in the Southern Tier, we're adding a Dock & Door Sales Specialist to support customers throughout our Binghamton and Horseheads territories.

Position Overview:

The Dock & Door Sales Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships while growing sales of Northeast Dock & Door equipment, products, and services.

This is an outside sales position where you'll spend time in the field meeting with existing and prospective customers, learning about their facilities and operations, identifying opportunities, and recommending solutions that help keep their businesses operating safely and efficiently.

You'll represent the Northeast Dock & Door division while having the resources and support of Thompson & Johnson Equipment behind you.

What You'll Do:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
• Regularly visit customers throughout the Binghamton and Horseheads territories.
• Learn about customer facilities, operations, and equipment needs.
• Identify opportunities for Dock & Door equipment, products, and services.
• Prospect for and develop new customer accounts.
• Schedule and conduct face to face meetings with existing and prospective customers.
• Recommend solutions based on customer applications and needs.
• Prepare quotes and proposals and follow up consistently on sales opportunities.
• Coordinate with Northeast Dock & Door employees and suppliers to ensure customer requirements are understood and addressed.
• Maintain accurate customer, prospecting, and sales activity.
• Participate in sales planning and forecasting.
• Continue developing your product and industry knowledge through ongoing training.

• Strong organization, time management, and follow through.
• Initiative and the ability to independently manage a sales territory.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• One to three years of outside industrial sales experience.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with dock equipment, commercial doors, industrial equipment, material handling, construction related products, or similar applications is a plus.

Compensation & Training:

We understand that learning our business, products, applications, customers, and sales process takes time. That's why this position provides $78,000 annualized training pay for up to one year
.

During the training period, the employee may elect at any time to transition to the regular compensation structure of:

$50,000 base salary plus commission

This provides time to learn the business and develop the territory while also giving you the opportunity to transition to the commission structure sooner when you're ready.
