Role Description The Security Guard role at Akshar Consulting, LLC is an on-site position located throughout New York state. Security Guards monitor premises, patrol assigned areas, and control access points to ensure the safety of people, property, and assets. Typical responsibilities include checking identification, observing and reporting suspicious activity, responding to alarms or incidents, and completing accurate incident reports. The role also involves interacting with visitors and clients, providing directions or assistance, and maintaining a visible security presence to deter unauthorized or unsafe behavior.
Security Guards collaborate with supervisors and, when necessary, law enforcement or emergency responders to handle security-related situations.
Qualifications
- Strong Physical Security and Private Security skills, including monitoring premises, patrolling areas, and managing access control.
- Experience or knowledge in Personnel Security practices, such as verifying identification and supporting safe conduct for staff and visitors.
- Effective Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service capabilities to communicate clearly, de-escalate situations, and assist clients and visitors professionally.
- Ability to remain alert and calm under pressure, with strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work on-site, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed; reliable punctuality and adherence to company policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior security, military, or law enforcement experience is beneficial.
- Ability to meet any applicable licensing or certification requirements for security personnel in New York State.
- Adept at problem solving in an ever-changing environment.
