Position Overview
A part‑time Alcoholism Rehab Assistant at UHS Binghamton General Hospital.
Schedule:
24 hours per week, Evening Shift (4‑7PM).
Primary Unit:
Memorial 4 Inpatient Addiction Medicine (New Horizons).
Compensation: $17.05 – $22.17 per hour, depending on experience.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, grooming, eating, and hydration.
- Measure and record vital signs, weight, intake and output, and other clinical measurements.
- Perform patient rounding in accordance with UHS standards and report any changes in condition to the Charge Nurse.
- Maintain a safe, infection‑controlled environment and a clean unit, including defrosting the refrigerator, emptying waste cans, and wiping down station surfaces every shift.
- Document patient progress notes and milieu therapy flow sheets under Charge Nurse supervision after successful completion of in‑services.
- Act as a role model of recovery, promoting hopefulness and positive relationships with patients and their families.
- Conduct patient discussion groups on key steps in recovery as needed.
- Support the team with administrative duties such as filing, chart stamping, lab sheet preparation, and organizing admission, transfer, and discharge charts.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum required).
- Preferred:
Previous experience working in a chemical dependency program. - Preferred:
Personal recovery experience with AA, NA, ACOA, and/or Al‑Anon.
- Hourly wage: $17.05 – $22.17, based on experience.
