Not important in a "this will look great on my CV" kind of way. Important in a "this gets a life-changing medicine to a patient faster" kind of way. That's the level of stakes we're working at every day in BMS's Chemical Process Development team and it's why we're looking for someone who genuinely loves the challenge.

This Role Is For You If...You're the kind of scientist who gets genuinely excited when something doesn't work the way it should. Who sees a tricky separation problem and thinks "let me figure this out" rather than "let me pass this along." Who reads about 2

DLC or capillary electrophoresis not because you have to but because you actually find it fascinating.

If that's you - keep reading .

The Role As a Scientist in Analytical Development , you'll be embedded within Chemical Process Development ( CPD ) project teams, working shoulder-to-shoulder with organic chemists and chemical engineers on some of the most scientifically complex drug candidates in BMS's portfolio - spanning small molecules, ADCs, peptides, and oligonucleotides .This isn't a support role in the background. You'll be a core contributor , providing the analytical insights that directly shape route selection, process optimisation, and scale-up decisions.

The data you generate, the methods you develop and the solutions you bring to the table will have a direct line to clinical outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing — and What It Really Means for You Developing and validating fit-for-purpose analytical methods You won't be handed a standard operating procedure and told to follow it. You'll be building the methodologies yourself - sharpening your technical toolkit on some of the most complex molecules in modern drug development.

Applying innovative separation techniques like 2

DLC and SFC You'll have the freedom and the resources to explore cutting-edge analytical approaches - building expertise that's genuinely sought after across the entire pharmaceutical industry.

Implementing automation and improving continuous manufacturing monitoring This is where analytical science meets the future. You'll be at the forefront of integrating automation, AI/ML, and data science into real pharmaceutical workflows - skills that will define the next generation of analytical scientists.

Transferring methods to support timely clinical API batch release There's a direct thread between the method you develop and a patient receiving a clinical trial dose. That's a thread worth pulling.

Collaborating across matrixed teams within CPD and broader Product Development You'll build relationships across disciplines - chemistry, engineering, regulatory, manufacturing - giving you a breadth of perspective and a professional network that's genuinely rare.

Publishing and presenting your work externally BMS actively encourages you to share your science with the wider world. Your work here won't just sit in an internal database - it has the potential to advance the field.

What You'll Gain Let's be direct about what this role gives you :

Technical depth AND breadth
- You'll develop expertise across a diverse portfolio of modalities (small molecules, ADCs, peptides, oligonucleotides) that most…
