Recruit4staff are representing a well-established marine engineering business in search of a Mechanical Fitter to work in Wirral.

Pay:
Up to £36,420 per annum (Depending on experience)
• Up to £17.51 per hour (Depending on experience)

40 hours per week (08:00–16:30 Monday to Thursday & 08:00–15:00 Friday)

The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for mechanical fitting, maintenance, and assembly across a range of marine craft.

• Strip, overhaul, and assemble specialist equipment such as bearings, gearboxes, generators, and pumps.
• Carry out bench work following schematics.
• Assemble and modify mechanical components.
• Perform repair work on both small and large marine crafts.
• Collaborate with colleagues to complete projects within set deadlines.

• Proven record in mechanical fitting covering maintenance and assembly.
• Experience stripping, overhauling, and assembling specialist equipment.
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of working with design teams to resolve mechanical problems.
• Experience in new build and/or repair and maintenance environments.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Time served / Apprentice trained Mechanical Fitter or NVQ Level3 Mechanical qualification.

• Experience working in the marine engineering or shipbuilding sector.
• Experience working on small or large marine craft.
• Knowledge of marine engines and propulsion systems.

• All candidates will be required to successfully pass a DBS check.
