Position: Bookkeeper - (On-site)

Title: Bookkeeper - Quick Books (In-office)

Location: Birmingham, AL

Salary: $55,000-$65,000

About this position: Vaco has been engaged to identify a Bookkeeper for a mid‑sized company, headquartered in Birmingham. The Bookkeeper will report to the President and perform general accounting and record keeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly closing and prepare various reports. This company has very low turnover and prides itself on being a mid‑sized company with a small‑company, family‑centric mindset.

Responsibilities
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and posting to general ledger within Quick Books
  • Preparing and entering journal entries
  • Generating financial packets and updating budgets
  • Communicating with owners and executive management about financial results
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a progressive accounting/bookkeeping role
  • Proficiency in Quick Books Online/Desktop
  • Extensive Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable knowledge
  • Knowledge of financial statement preparation
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities and the ability to shift gears with ease
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
