This is an analysis‑heavy role suited for a technically strong accountant who enjoys complex data, operational interaction, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will be motivated to modernize midstream accounting through automation, advanced analytics, and scalable reporting.
Special focus to be placed on:
- Own accounting for midstream activities across pipeline systems, including customer and vendor interactions.
- Analyze and reconcile gas volumes flowed on Company‑owned systems and third‑party gas transported, ensuring alignment between operational data and financial results.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month‑end and quarter‑end close.
- Deliver dynamic operational and financial reporting to support visibility into throughput, volumes, and performance at both the system and financial statement level.
- Support external financial reporting and public‑company audit requirements, including preparation of audit‑quality support.
- Execute and maintain SOX‑compliant controls over midstream accounting processes.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Commercial, FP&A, and IT to resolve data issues and enhance reporting accuracy.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation using AI tools, Hyperion, BI platforms, and ERP systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3–6+ years of progressive accounting or analytical experience
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large, operationally driven data sets
- Solid understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, and internal controls
- CPA preferred (or active CPA candidate)
- Public company and/or public accounting experience
- Experience in midstream, energy, or asset‑intensive environments
- Exposure to operational data, throughput metrics, or volume‑based reporting
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods working at a desk in front of a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
