Tax Audit and Accounting Group, Assistant Manager

The role

BDO’s Tax Accounting Group is a national team that specialises in tax accounting and tax audit work. As an Assistant Manager, you will be exposed to the firm’s largest, highest‑profile audits across a range of groups and sectors. You will also assist with complex tax reporting for non‑audit clients, including preparing tax consolidations and handling the tax accounting aspects of GAAP conversions, carve‑out accounting and acquisition accounting for clients such as FTSE and AIM listed groups, large in‑bounds, and private‑equity backed businesses.

You will work closely with more senior professionals who specialise in this area, receiving on‑the‑job coaching to develop your expertise. Working directly with clients and our technical experts, you will encounter a variety of tax and tax‑accounting issues and build strong relationships with primary audit teams. Over time you will be responsible for training junior members of the team and for developing project‑management skills to ensure required deliverables are provided on time.

Applications are encouraged from newly or recently qualified auditors with an interest in moving into tax, or from individuals who have qualified in tax and wish to specialise in tax reporting and the audit of tax.

• Has a minimum of three years audit and/or tax experience with a Big Four or mid‑tier firm.
• ACA and/or CTA qualified (or equivalent).
• Has developed project management skills and is able to manage multiple projects and meet agreed deadlines.
• Has experience of coaching more junior staff.
• Has experience of dealing with clients directly.
