Senior Accountant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
• Construction accounting background preferred
• Advanced Excel skills preferred
• Experience with a construction or project-based ERP system
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills
• Good problem‑solving and time‑management skills
• Highly organized and detail‑oriented
• Willing to adjust for departmental workload changes
• Ability to work efficiently and multitask

• Monthly closes completed accurately and on time
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations consistently maintained
• Financial reports delivered timely to leadership
• Accounting issues identified and resolved proactively
• Strong communication and accountability within the accounting team
• Reliable support for leadership decision-making

• Own the monthly close and reconciliation process to ensure accurate and timely reporting
• Prepare monthly financial reporting package for senior leadership
• Lead recurring accounting team meetings using a structured operating system
• Identify discrepancies and proactively resolve accounting issues
• Maintain accountability for balance sheet integrity and cash accuracy
• Assist with job cost analysis, WIP schedules, and project financial reviews
• Support project‑based accounting processes including retainage and contract billing/collections
• File state and federal taxes monthly, quarterly, and annually
• Process year‑end W-2, 1099, and 1095 forms
• Prepare year‑end financials, working closely with an outside CPA
• Assist with monthly forecasting and the annual budget
• Provide additional support to the Controller as needed
