Warranty Accountant
The Warranty Accountant will perform essential accounting duties required within the warranty group. Work closely with the Accounting Department to streamline account transactions. Working independently, the Warranty Accountant must have the ability to perform multiple tasks producing a high volume of work with accuracy. A sense of urgency and high attention to detail are required for this position.
Essential Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Process Warranty Settlements from Cat and Allied Vendors.
- Verify all Warranty Settlements are applied to the correct accounts.
- Compile, distribute, and follow-up on claims that need to be reviewed by Warranty Claims Technicians.
- Perform General Ledger Journal Entries. Including but not limited to:
Reclass settlements, split warranty residuals between departments, reclass parts return debits. - Run reports to identify service calls that are not correctly coded for warranty.
- Ensure that all Warranty Department financial changes involving work orders are properly charged to the correct accounts and stores.
- Work with Warranty Technicians and Allied Vendors for reimbursement of warranty repairs performed.
- Maintain and Reconcile Warranty Receivable accounts monthly.
- Maintain, review, and pursue aged claims.
- Review warranty expense accounts monthly and report findings to management.

Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience:
- Basic accounting methods (GAAP) and bookkeeping practices is a requirement.
- Experience with AX system preferred but not required.
