Position: Staff Accountant- $15/hr

Staff Accountant

As a member of our hospitality team, the primary responsibility of a Staff Accountant is to play a crucial role in supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the accounting department. This role’s contributions are essential in ensuring guest satisfaction with inquiries, achieving the operating budget and forecast goals, and maintaining accurate financial records. By applying accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills, this role will help maintain the integrity of the financial records and help drive the success of the accounting department.

  • Collaborates with the Accounting Department, actively participating in its day‑to‑day operations to ensure smooth and efficient financial processes.
  • Takes ownership of Group Bills, from creation to collection efforts, ensuring accuracy and timely follow‑up on outstanding payments to maintain positive financial health.
  • Demonstrates effective management of the Accounts Receivable Aging for the Resort, monitoring and tracking outstanding invoices and working towards timely resolutions.
  • Provides excellent customer service by promptly handling guest and vendor inquiries, addressing concerns, and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, diligently ensuring accurate and reliable financial reporting.
  • Plays an active role in the month‑end closing process, supporting the team in ensuring all financial activities are properly accounted for and closed out.
  • Provides valuable assistance with Department Checkbooks, maintaining organized and up‑to‑date records of financial transactions.
  • Contributes to the efficient management of inventory processes, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of inventory levels.
  • Establishes effective communication with the Director of Finance and Accounting Manager, providing regular updates on departmental activities and collaborating on financial matters.
