- Analyze and interpret payroll and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; summarize findings and present recommendations to leadership in a clear and actionable format.
- Serve as a subject matter resource for payroll accounting processes and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on accounting treatment, payroll impacts, and reporting requirements.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Payroll, HR, Finance, FP&A, and external vendors to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Effectively communicate complex accounting and payroll concepts to non‑financial stakeholders, translating technical information into clear business insights and recommendations.
- Drive process improvement initiatives focused on automation, scalability, controls, and efficiency across payroll accounting and related financial processes.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects and competing deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Support implementation, enhancement, and optimization of accounting and payroll systems, reporting tools, and workflows.
- Monitor changes in payroll regulations, accounting guidance, and compliance requirements to ensure ongoing adherence and proactive process updates.
- Develop and maintain documentation of key processes, controls, methodologies, and standard operating procedures.
- Demonstrate leadership through ownership, problem solving, continuous improvement, and influence across the broader accounting organization.
- CPP designation and/or Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field.
- 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting, payroll accounting, audit, or related financial functions preferred.
- Experience with Dayforce, Workday, and other payroll, ERP, and financial reporting systems is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including working with large datasets, complex formulas, reconciliation processes, and data analysis techniques.
