Senior Accountant

Sterling Search Partners is helping a client with its search for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and improving accounting processes.

• Lead and execute month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Maintain and ensure accuracy of the general ledger
• Analyze financial statements and explain variances vs. budget/forecast
• Support preparation of financial reports for management
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (or IFRS if applicable)
• Assist with internal and external audits, including documentation and schedules
• Review work of staff accountants and provide guidance/mentorship
• Improve and document accounting processes and controls
• Partner with FP&A and operational teams on financial insights
• Manage fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions (if applicable)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• CPA preferred (or actively pursuing)
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience (public accounting or corporate)
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
