Position SummaryThe Corporate Assistant Controller is an integral part of the accounting/finance team that supports the daily operation of the division’s accounting functions. This role manages a wide variety of responsibilities, including general operations, preparation of financial statements and reports, month‑end and year‑end closings, account reconciliations, and other accounting functions. The position also provides supervision and oversight of payroll.
Responsibilities- Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
- Analyze variances and provide actionable insights.
- Ensure GAAP compliance.
- Support forecasting and budgeting.
- Support audits.
- Oversee multi‑site payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Review payroll journal entries and reconciliations, and maintain payroll internal controls.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for payroll.
- Reconcile assigned balance‑sheet accounts.
- Manage fixed assets and maintain costs of direct ship products.
- Work with Plant Assistant Controllers to drive process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum six years of accounting or business‑related experience.
- Proven knowledge of financial statements, journal entries, and GAAP.
- Demonstrated increase in responsibility in prior roles.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Documented history of developing and maintaining positive working relationships in a multi‑stakeholder culture.
- Ability to deliver results in a team‑focused environment.
- Willingness to travel by car or plane to manufacturing sites.
- Experience in manufacturing accounting.
- Experience with Microsoft D365.
