The Corporate Assistant Controller is an integral part of the accounting/finance team. The Corporate Assistant Controller supports the daily operation of the division’s accounting functions and handles a wide variety of responsibilities, including issues relating to general operations, preparation of financial statements and reports, monthly and year‑end closings, account reconciliations, and all other accounting functions. The role also provides supervision and oversight of payroll.
PositionResponsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
- Analyze variances and provide actionable insights
- Ensure GAAP compliance
- Support forecasting and budgeting
- Support audits
- Payroll Oversight & Compliance
- Oversee multi‑site payroll operations
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
- Review payroll journal entries and reconciliations
- Maintain payroll internal controls
- Ensure regulatory compliance
- Operational Accounting
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts
- Manage fixed assets
- Maintain costs of direct ship products
- Work with Plant Assistant Controllers to drive process improvements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum six (6) years of accounting or business‑related experience
- Proven knowledge of financial statements, journal entries, and GAAP
- Demonstrated increase of responsibility in prior work experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Documented history developing and maintaining positive working relationships in a multi‑stakeholder culture
- Ability to deliver results while working in a team‑focused environment
- Must be able to travel by car/plane to manufacturing sites
- Experience in manufacturing accounting
- Microsoft D365 experience
