Overview
Naph Care has an excellent opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our Pharmacy located in our Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham. The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial performance, reporting, and account management of a multi-site pharmacy operation. This role serves as a key partner between pharmacy operations, finance, and corporate leadership to ensure accurate financial oversight, operational alignment, and strong contract performance.
This is a highly cross-functional role that blends financial management with operational support and requires strong attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Manage financial reporting across multiple pharmacy business lines
- Track and analyze monthly performance, including revenue, cost of goods, rebates, and margins
- Prepare month-end close activities, including journal entries and accruals
- Identify and explain variances to budget and forecast
- Support annual budgeting and ongoing financial forecasting
- Monitor financial performance across pharmacy contracts and client accounts
- Analyze cost trends and key drivers, including volume and utilization
- Support Request for Proposal (RFP) pricing, pro forma development, and contract evaluations
- Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and financial performance
- Oversee purchasing accounts and vendor relationships
- Monitor pricing, rebates, and contract compliance
- Investigate and resolve purchasing discrepancies and account issues
- Partner with operations to support formulary management and cost optimization
- Partner with pharmacy operations leadership to align financial performance with staffing and workflow needs
- Maintain visibility into staffing levels and operational impacts on cost
- Support implementation of systems, tools, and process improvements
- Help drive consistency in reporting and operational practices across sites
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in financial management, operations, or account management preferred
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and cost analysis
- CPA preferred, but not required
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
