Sr. Accountant (Real Estate)

Location: Birmingham, AL (Onsite)

Our client is hiring a Sr. Accountant to support accounting and financial reporting functions for a growing real estate portfolio. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, executing monthly close activities, preparing account reconciliations, and delivering timely financial reporting.

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for assigned properties and legal entities.
• Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, allocations, reclasses and recurring entries.
• Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of the chart of accounts across multiple entities.
• Assist with consolidated financial reporting, including intercompany transactions and eliminations.
• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare financial reporting packages for management review.
• Manage property-level accounting activities, including expense coding, allocations and deporting.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliation, ensuring all outstanding items are completed timely.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of professional accounting experience preferably in a real estate or property management environment.
• Proficiency in ERP and advanced excel skills.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
