Accounting Transformation Manager

A great UHY client is seeking an Accounting Transformation Manager
. The ideal candidate will have public company accounting experience, strong SOX and internal controls knowledge, and a passion for improving accounting processes through systems and technology.

The Accounting Transformation Manager role is an onsite position. This is a direct hire position.

• Analyze existing accounting and finance processes to identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased efficiency.
• Lead accounting transformation initiatives focused on standardizing and optimizing financial processes.
• Support IPO readiness activities, including documenting accounting processes and designing future-state internal controls.
• Develop, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and process documentation.
• Partner with finance and accounting teams to redesign month-end close, reporting, and financial workflows.
• Support ERP system enhancements, implementations, and finance technology initiatives.
• Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-implementation reviews.
• Improve data quality, financial reporting accuracy, and audit readiness across the organization.
• Assist with the design and implementation of scalable accounting processes and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into finance solutions.
• Support SOX compliance, audit requirements, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and AI tools to improve finance operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Master's degree in Accounting is preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience with public company and/or Big 4 public accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
• Experience supporting finance transformation, process improvement, or systems implementation initiatives.
• Experience with ERP systems;
  Workday experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with finance applications such as Black Line, Workiva, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Strong systems, data analysis, and Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience working with financial reporting and audit requirements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Experience leveraging AI or automation tools within finance is a plus.
