Senior Property Accountant

Our client is hiring a Sr Property Accountant to join their growing team. The property accountant is responsible for accounting and financial reporting of a portfolio of real estate assets. This role manages month‑end close, prepares financial statements, performs reconciliations, and partners with property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Job Responsibilities- You will own the financial performance and reporting for an assigned portfolio of properties from transaction processing through financial statement delivery
- Perform month end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations with complete and audit‑ready support documentation.
- Oversee the monthly close process, including the preparation and review of financial results, analysis of key variances, and timely reporting.
- Monitor cash activity and support cash flow management through coordination with operations and AP teams.
- Work alongside internal teams on tax‑related questions tied to specific projects
- 4 years of related experience, preferably in public accounting or real estate accounting.
- Accounting degree required.
- Yardi Experience.
- Someone who wants to grow into a well‑rounded accounting professional.
- CPA or CPA‑track is a plus, but not a must.
Salary range noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
