Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to support financial reporting, fixed asset accounting, and month-end close activities. This full-time position is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, analyzing capital-related transactions, and producing financial information used for operational and financial decision-making.
The individual in this role will perform general ledger reconciliations, process accounting entries associated with fixed assets, collaborate with internal departments on project-related expenditures, and assist with audit and forecasting requirements. Success in this position requires strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities independently.
What You'll Do:- Compile and review financial information associated with fixed assets and capital expenditures.
- Generate journal entries related to depreciation, asset movements, and disposals while ensuring timely processing.
- Complete account reconciliations as part of the monthly close cycle and investigate variances as needed.
- Produce reporting and analysis tied to capital spending activity and asset management.
- Partner with operational teams to evaluate and classify project costs and construction-related expenditures.
- Support budgeting and forecasting initiatives by providing reliable financial data and analysis.
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation required for internal and external audits.
- Coordinate project requests while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
- Previous experience in accounting, auditing, or a comparable financial environment preferred.
- Strong Excel capabilities, including the ability to work efficiently with large volumes of data.
- Ability to communicate effectively with professionals at multiple organizational levels.
- Self-directed work habits with the capacity to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience using accounting systems or enterprise financial software is beneficial.
