We’re partnering with a well-established physicians group in Birmingham to find an Accounts Payable Coordinator to join their team. In this role, you’ll help keep the organization’s day-to-day accounting operations running smoothly, while ensuring financial records are accurate, organized, and up to date. You’ll work with a supportive team and have the opportunity to use your accounting knowledge across a variety of functions.
What You’ll Do- Perform daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities
- Process vendor payments, including accruing expenses, obtaining approvals, reconciling vendor accounts, and administering payments
- Prepare and mail A/P checks while maintaining scanning priorities
- Update daily bank account ledgers and assist with monthly bank reconciliations
- Receive, code, post, and scan daily deposits
- Assist with journal entries and month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare and maintain accurate accounting documents and financial records
- Support compliance activities, including licensing, audits, and 1099 preparation
- Research, track, and resolve accounting discrepancies and documentation issues
- Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with Quick Books Desktop
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Previous Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential financial information
- Someone who works well independently and enjoys being part of a collaborative team
