Currently, our partner is seeking a highly skilled Tax Supervisor to join their hybrid team in Alabama.
- Review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporate clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage the day-to-day workflow of client engagements, including budgeting, scheduling, and billing coordination.
- Conduct in-depth tax research on moderately to highly complex tax scenarios and draft technical memorandums to support tax positions.
- Assist clients with tax planning, forecasting, and the implementation of tax-saving strategies throughout the year.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, promptly addressing inquiries and maintaining proactive communication regarding project status.
- Identify opportunities to add value to client businesses by recognizing potential tax issues or operational inefficiencies.
- Support firm leadership in responding to tax authority notices and managing state or federal examinations.
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff and senior associates, providing clear instructions and constructive feedback on their work.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, guiding junior staff through complex technical issues and aiding in their professional development.
- Champion firm policies and quality control standards across all engagements.
- Active CPA license is strictly required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 4 to 6 years of progressive professional experience in public accounting, specifically within tax.
- Strong proficiency in tax preparation and research software (e.g., CCH, Thomson Reuters, or similar platforms).
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple overlapping project deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to interface effectively with clients and guide junior staff.
