Position: Student Assistant I, Human Resources

Student Assistants for Human Resources are a vital part of our team. They provide support for the department through clerical duties, special projects, events, and relief coverage for the front desk. Our Student Assistants are prepared to be official greeters of students, faculty, staff, and visitors to Human Resources and Business Services. As such, they have a friendly, welcoming disposition and enjoy working with the public.

  • Provide front desk coverage as needed to include greeting and providing information, support and assistance to students, employees and visitors of the Human Resources and Business Services departments
  • Scan and index documents for electronic files
  • Manage and maintain sensitive student information in physical and electronic files
  • Prep for and/or participate in Human Resources events such as New Employee Orientation, Student Employee of the Year, Student Employee Appreciation Week
  • Participate in preparation for bulk mailings
  • Pick-up/deliver items around campus
  • Provide support to all areas of Human Resources as needed

Federal Work/Study earnings will be paid biweekly in the form of a check or direct deposit payable to the student. This award does not credit to the account of the student as payment toward University charges.

Required Qualifications
  • Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements, exhibit responsibility and professionalism, and possess the ability to work with, and protect, personal and sensitive information
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel) as well as strong organizational skills
  • Time Management: arrive to work on time and stay focused throughout the shift
  • Ability to manage a variety of responsibilities, and switch gears on short notice
  • Ability to accurately file/sort alphabetically
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Available to work Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters
