Temporary Associate
Samford University is seeking qualified individuals to support various departments as assignments become available on campus. Positions vary in duties, work schedule and length of assignment. The Temporary Associate will assist with administrative duties and daily operations, providing crucial support where it is most needed. This flexible role is designed for individuals who thrive in a dynamic academic environment and are proficient at handling a variety of tasks.
This is an opportunity to get to know a wide variety of people and positions on campus. This is an applicant pool, and applications received for this position will be retained in our applicant database for possible future opportunities. Individuals will be hired as needed.
The specific tasks and responsibilities assigned to this role will vary depending on the department you are placed in, reflecting the diverse needs of our thriving academic community. Only qualified applicants who have applied to this temporary pool will be considered. You will be expected to perform a variety of functions, which may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence to support departmental functions.
- Provide front desk support, greeting and directing visitors, answering phone calls, and providing information about university services.
- Assist with specific projects by collecting data, preparing reports, and maintaining records. The nature of project support can differ greatly between departments.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth operations and delivery of high-quality service to students, faculty, and staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Alignment with the Christian mission and values of Samford University.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrate a consistent friendly, professional demeanor.
- Ability to work with confidential data and information.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with database systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work in various departments and adapt to changing tasks and schedules
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to report to work as needed.
- Previous experience in an administrative, event coordination, or customer service role, preferred.
