Secretary/Receptionists

Qualifications:

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • Business courses of secretarial/bookkeeping training from a business/technical school.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good public relations skills.
  • Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Reports To:

Administrator designated by Superintendent

Job Goal:
To complete the detail and written work and to coordinate other matters essential to the efficiency and effectiveness of the administrative supervisor.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Takes, transcribes dictation and types correspondences, reports, notices, recommendations, etc.
  • Obtains, gathers, and organizes pertinent data as needed and puts it into usable form.
  • Maintains a regular filing system, as well as a set of confidential files, and processes incoming correspondences.
  • Places and receives telephone calls and records messages.
  • Orders and maintains supplies as needed.
  • Performs any bookkeeping tasks associated with the specific position.
  • Maintains a schedule of appointments and make arrangements for conferences and interviews.
  • Welcomes visitors and arranges for their comfort.
  • Screens unexpected callers in accordance with predetermined policies.
  • Operates office machines.
  • Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics.
  • Performs other related duties that are required by the administrator.
  • Terms of Employment:
    Twelve month year. Salary to be established by the Board.

    Evaluation:
    Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
