We’re looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to keep our growing organization running smoothly and efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who loves a spreadsheet, thrives in the details, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. You’ll own budgeting and financial operations, manage the physical upkeep and performance of our centers, and help us scale intentionally and sustainably.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Operations (50%)
Own day-to-day financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Track center-level performance and recommend strategies for efficiency and growth
Manage tools like Quick Books, Gusto, and Ramp for accounting, payroll, and expense tracking
Ensure timely vendor payments, reimbursements, and invoice processing
Support pricing updates and cost modeling for new services or locations
Center Operations & Facilities (20%)
Oversee market level purchasing, inventory, and compliance systems
Own maintenance, safety, and upkeep of all Moxi centers, working closely with vendors and landlords
Create and maintain systems for supply management, security, and cleanliness
Serve as point of contact for repairs, inspections, and facilities-related emergencies
Systems + Processes (10%)
Build and refine internal systems for scheduling, documentation, and communication
Refine and maintain systems for hiring and onboarding new employees in partnership with HR consultant
Ensure teams are trained and supported to use tools like Gmail, Google Calendar, and Slack
Identify opportunities to automate or simplify repeatable tasks
Growth & Expansion (20%)
Support the opening of new Moxi centers, from site prep to operational readiness
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and licensing bodies during buildouts
Help develop staffing plans, supply lists, and operational workflows for new locations
Travel regionally as needed to support site launches and ensure operational consistency
Embody Moxi’s core leadership values
Help foster a joyful, inclusive, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff
Serve as a connector and communicator between families and the broader Moxi team
Have 3–5+ years of experience in operations, facilities, finance, or business management
Love budgets, spreadsheets, and bringing order to chaos
Are organized, systems-driven, and solution-oriented
Know how to communicate clearly and kindly, even under pressure
Are comfortable making decisions, solving problems, and wearing many hats
Get excited about building processes, launching spaces, and improving over time
Prior experience in a startup, early education, or childcare is preferred
